We are a husband and wife team. The Hawaii Koons Cattery developed out of our shared fasination of the Maine Coon breed and has allowed us to combine our skills and interests. Jessica holds a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, while Jared is a woodworker/carpenter.

We live on a farm and are a family of animal lovers! In addition to our Maine Coons, our farm is home to Pomeranians and a mixture of chickens. We also grow a variety of fruits and have several gardens.

Cats like a lot of vertical, climbing, and hiding spaces. Good thing we have an expert woodworker/carpenter on hand. Building always seems to be a family affair and the little one always seems to want to "help".

Hawaii Koons Maine Coon Cattery
We are a small family run cattery located on the island of Hawai’i. Our Cattery is registered with both TICA and CFA. Our breeding cats are selected for characteristics we enjoy in the Maine Coon. Large tufted ears, big bones, strong muzzle, long feather duster like tails, dog-like temperament. We have specially selected breeding Maine Coons from catteries that breed European-type Maine Coons. We do not compromise health for a particular trait.
Our Maine Coon cats have access to a secure garden environment and have a set up that encourages natural behaviors such as playing and hiding.
Our breeding cats and their parents have all been DNA tested to help ensure a healthy companion.
We strive to breed cats that are happy, healthy, well socialized and free of genetic disorders. We go through an application and interview process to ensure a sound match between kitten and perspective new owners based on lifestyle and personality.
